Driehoek, Oshakati

Product Description

During the South African Bush War which lasted from 1966 to 1989, an army base was located in Oshakati, nearby Driehoek Resort.  The watchtower in my relief sculpture is a stark reminder of my own experiences here whilst doing my National Service.  I chose to portray a sunset scene, profiling the watchtower to enhance the somber atmosphere of those times whilst the brightness of sunset is reminiscent of good memories which will stay with me.
