Product Description
Out on a limb, an idiom that describes a situation where one finds oneself in a situation with no solid foundation or safety net. The seemingly ease of the climber challenging a solid rock face is belied by his apparel and safety gear. I used the grain of wood to accentuate the ascent and sheerness of the rock face. This sculpture was inspired by respect for those who thrive on an adrenaline rush and succeed in dangerous feats. On a lesser scale but not to say with less impact we face life’s challenges on a daily basis in a world of turmoil and uncertainty, each one hanging onto his or her own lifeline.
